Tokyo Boys is a Japanese restaurant tucked inside a strip mall in Henderson that offers a dining experience leaning towards authentic and carefully crafted sushi and traditional dishes. The space itself feels like a blend of casual and comfortable, where the ambiance strikes a balance between a neighborhood eatery and a spot where the chef’s attention to detail takes center stage. The décor carries a subtle hint of its past, reportedly once a 1950s diner, giving it a nostalgic but modest vibe inside.

What stands out here is the focus on fresh, high-quality ingredients—especially evident in their omakase nigiri and signature dishes like miso marinated black cod, unagi, and shrimp tempura. Visitors who appreciate sushi presented with precision and balance will find plenty to enjoy, especially if you lean into the chef’s tasting sequences. The restaurant’s approach isn’t all about quantity but more about the craftsmanship of each plate, which is reflected in the pricing and portion sizes.

Tokyo Boys suits diners looking for an intimate meal, whether it's a quiet date night or a special occasion like a birthday dinner. The service is friendly and knowledgeable, often adding a layer of warmth that complements the food quality. It’s a place you might visit later in the evening, as it’s not a fast-paced, high-traffic sushi bar but rather one where fresh selections and a calm atmosphere make the meal linger.

While some have noted that certain dishes could feel smaller or that the flavor intensity sometimes leans toward subtlety, the overall experience is that of a local spot where Chef Hiro’s care is evident in every detail. The flavors cater well to those familiar with Japanese cuisine who appreciate an authentic but approachable interpretation, rather than the overly flashy or fused styles sometimes found elsewhere.

  • Best for: Sushi lovers and those who value traditional Japanese dishes prepared with care.
  • Who will enjoy it: Locals and visitors seeking a quieter, friendly setting with authentic flavors.
  • Best time to visit: Evening hours when the omakase and more elaborate dishes are available.
  • Atmosphere: Unpretentious with a hint of retro charm, comfortable for relaxed dining.

Overall, Tokyo Boys fits naturally into the Henderson dining scene as a spot that respects classic Japanese culinary techniques while offering a warm, local vibe. If you’re in the neighborhood and craving thoughtfully prepared sushi or tendon bowls like oyakodon, it’s worth a visit to experience a quieter, well-executed Japanese meal away from the usual crowds.

We were absolutely blown away by our visit! Our server, Charlie, went above and beyond friendly, knowledgeable, and made us feel so welcome from start to finish. The chef’s omakase platter was phenomenal fresh, beautifully presented, and perfectly balanced. Every bite was bursting with flavor and creativity. We’ve dined at several top-rated sushi spots around Henderson as well as Las Vegas, but this one truly stands out as one of the best. The quality, service, and atmosphere were all exceptional. We left impressed and already can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend asking for Charlie and trying the omakase you won’t regret it!

The veggie roll was pretty small but tasted fine. The spicy garlic edamame was ok but I like when it’s a bit more intense. Service was good and the restaurant is nicely kept and has a cool atmosphere. Over all I thought it was very pricey for what I got.

2024Nov19Wed: It’s my wife’s birthday and she’s craving for some Japanese food- and this place did not disappoint!! Another good find in our Henderson neighborhood for an authentic family restaurant operated by Owner/Chef Hirofumi Miyoshi. Not an AYCE place but each ala carte order is meticulously prepared by Chef Hiro with the freshest fish and seafood of highest quality along with other elevated ingredients. Looking forward to our next visit and try chef’s Omakase offering. A definite gem that will be in our rotation !!!!

Oh wow.. I’m so glad I tried this place!!! I’ve been sleeping on Tokyo boys for a few years now and I finally gave them a shot. Huge win!! As a Henderson local, I am proud to say I’ve found my favorite sushi bar across town. Big shout out to chef HIRO San and his team. Arigato gozaimasu!!! From the outside the place looks like an old school 50s diner and it probably was at some point. On the inside you are instantly greeted with a warm irasshaimase welcome. The place is clean, multiple tables, old school booths and large sushi bar seating, clean restrooms and plenty of dining room options. With NBA playoffs on, the TVs were a nice touch. At the time I was dining solo and was very comfortable. The sushi quality was amazing, breathtaking, even mouthwatering as you lust on your next bite. Spot on quality with sources such as Kagoshima and ehime. Thank you for the Bluefin and kanpachi. Had several bites of sushi, couple of rolls and finished with a delicious matcha brûlée and black sesame panna cotta. I highly recommend taking a trip over to Henderson just to check this place out and enjoy your time as the Tokyo boys cater the experience. Arigato gozaimasu!!!

We came here for the Omakase since we recently met the chef himself so we decided to pay him a visit. This is truly a great Omakase experience other than higher end ones. The reason it's so different is because the main focus is on the food and nothing extra like plating. You get to focus on all types of quality nigiri and you leave here full. Each nigiri was well crafted and amazing and is worth the price.

I have family in Henderson that I visit yearly. A few years ago when I came to town, I asked if there was a good place for sushi nearby. After some research, we decided to give Tokyo Boys a try. After my first visit there, I have made this a must-go spot every time I come visit. As I am from Wisconsin, there is no place nearby me that has sushi of this quality. The chef has years of experience and it shows. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. I've even been recognized coming back after only doing so once a year. I cannot possibly give this place a higher recommendation. Fresh fish, beautiful presentation, care put into every bite, and delicious options for those not into sushi. Please, do yourself a favor and go to this incredible restaurant.

Tried the place out for the first time. Atmosphere feels nice as an old diner setting. The staff were friendly and kept checking in on the customers. The food tasted great but the prices could be better. Price to portion was a bit high. Sushi rolls were smaller in size than the typical sushi places in the area.
